Hey all! I was going to post this earlier, and now all of the photos are up on Marley's facebook, but if you don't have access to that, her photobucket has a TON of Present Laughter photos. There are also some other great photos that aren't on the facebook of some of the same people at various events, including prom, thespian conference, etc, so check it out!

It seems to me that, due to standardized testing and Miracle Worker, our best bet may actually be to wait until the first weekend in November (the weekend following MW's completion) to have our party. I know this puts it at quite a lag from our show dates, but it really seems to me that we ought to try to get everyone in attendance. Also, it allows us to call the first Saturday of every month our, "anyone who's free and feels like it--whether that be two people or ten--get together day."

What does everyone think of that? I'll probably end up emailing you all, so as to be sure to reach those who no longer read the livejournal.

All my love, Marley

PS. If this sounds like a good idea, we ought to make solid plans now, before people become busy on that date, as well.

I think we should have the cast party the 20th and have it as a sleepover somewhere.... It could be at my house if all else fails but it would be nice to have something bigger and maybe at a girl's house to attract more people (girls). hahaha. Muahahahaha. so. . . . ... If people can't sleep over they could just be there in the evening, leave, and come back next morning or so. Is this a good day for all? is this a good weekend? comments awaited....

Cast Party
Since nothing is being decided online, I want to have a plaffter meeting on Tues during lunch in the LT to discuss the cast party. For those who still read this lj, please notify everyone else about the meeting. See you on Tues!

Alyssa, have you checked out yatch club prices?

Much love,
Hanah

Hey everyone. I just finished updating Present Laughter photos to my BRAND NEW! photobucket account, and I wanted to give you a link in case anyone wanted to see. I don't bring my camera very often, so I only have twelve, and as I'm not an expert photographer, I can't promise that most of them are terribly good. But they are there if you are interested. The web address is http://s102.photobucket.com/albums/m92/ratherbeinashland/. I currently have the album set so that it is private but can be viewed by my friends with a special password. The username is "ratherbeinashland" (it should already be typed in), and the password is "crazybohemian," in honor of our cast songs. When you go to the link, it will ask you for the password. It looks like you are logging in to my account, but really you are logging in to the "read-only" account. Enjoy!

Weekend
This weekend, I have decided we are not going to have the official cast party, but next weekend. Please post as to what you want!

As far as this weekend, Sarah is having a get together at her house at about twoish. Check her livejournal for info and to RSVP.

At the rehearsal my Dad came to, he took just over 1000 photos. I have narrowed it down to 420. But since they are fairly high resolution, they wont all fit on one CD. Im not entirely sure how much space there is on a DVD, but maybe we can get industrial size! Anyway, I have the CD's with all 420 photos on it in my backpack, so if Matt's around, tell him to come and find me. It would be great if all of the photos could go on the DVD as well as the two versions of the show, but I dont know if its possible to fit that much.

My house is also available to any sort of cast get-together. But not this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, has anything been aranged?

That is all.

Love,

Garry Essendine

Cast Party
Well, I guess I am still attempting to carry on my producing duties and organize the cast party. So, my mom has offered up our house for the cast party. I don't think we can make it for this weekend, due to Sarah's informal thing on Sat, unless people want to have it on Sunday. But you have to let me know.
Other options which have been floating around:
Have it at park. We could have it at the park near my house, or there's also wildwood. Then we could go to my house to watch the movie.
Go to a beach. People will need to provide rides, but everyone will split gas prices. I could organize food.

So the question is where, when, and what would you like to do at the party. I know watching the video is one, but is there anything else that people want planned or to plan?
Also, which day to people prefer? Sat or Sun? And also about what time? Do you want to have it more during the day, or more into the night, and how long?

Please post and tell me so it can be organized!
Missing every single one of you, and the show,
Hanah

Hey guys! I also posted this message in my own LJ, but I'm putting it here too because...yeah...

So there's a tentative plan for people to be able to come over to my house on Sat. which originated as a "does anyone want to look at my vast collection of sheet music for audition songs" party, and will possibly turn into a "Hey, you free Sat. afternoon? Come over!" party. Not sure yet, but if you're interested, check my livejournal (check comments on other entries here and click "queeny479") and I'll be sure sometime tomorrow if it's gonna happen.

Love you all extremely and you'd better be prepared for me to shower you with cast love and post-affection whenever I see you. So ha.

~Sarah

Hehe, I hacked into the Plaffter LJ! Well, okay, not really.

After a day of contemplation, I have officially decided that this is my favorite show of all the ones I’ve done with SHS. I don’t really have all that much to say that hasn’t already been verbalized by someone, and although I would love to say it again, the words aren’t coming out quite the way I wanted them to. I just think it’s so amazing that we have this kind of bond and have people crying when it’s all over, because that’s not an experience I get very often with school shows – not that there’s anything wrong with school shows; it’s just hard. And of course, no matter how much you appreciate everything as it’s going on (and I really did appreciate it), you never quite realize the impact it’s had on your life until it’s over. Plaffter rehearsals have been the happiest part of my day, and also a great part of my social life. Now I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. YES, I fully agree that we MUST continue doing stuff as a cast. I know that we all have busy schedules, so we should probably decide that we’re going to do something, say, at least once a month no matter what, and promise not to cancel it even if only a few people can come. And I want to have a sleepover. Seriously. Although I don’t know whether that will be a problem with some parents.

The part that really made me tear up was last night, when I was reading through the program and saw Marley’s last line, “because even actors grow old when you aren’t looking.” Please don’t do that, guys. I want to stay a part of all of your lives. I love all of you. And I’m wearing my secret star present.

You know how you often hear people say, “Oh, I love everyone in this cast/club/group/troop/etc,” and what they really mean is, “I love everyone…except for a couple” or “I love everyone, except for the few who I don’t know very well, but they seem okay so I guess I love them.” This is not what I mean when I say I love every single freaking one of you. When I get the time, I'll write you each a paragraph of affection as proof.

With love longer-lasting than lightning, snowflakes upon rivers, or sunbeams upon tides,

Your resident Swede (Elizabeth)

Hello All,

This is Katie, and I have a question for James. Matt is putting together the dvd and he is wondering if he could get the photos your dad took of our rehearsal. I don't know what the best way to get them to him is, but if you could let me know or make a cd or put them online for everyone or something that would be great

Oh, my loves...

"As I told you the other night," this has been the absolute, most magnificent experience of my entire life. (Better than CTY, it's true.) You all have become so incredibly dear to me. At four in the morning, I read through the album you gave me and wept sorrowfully down my lipstick-smeared cheeks.

I don't know what to do with myself today. I can't quite comprehend not having rehearsal to attend; the words, "See you on Monday," stuck in my mouth last night as I wanted so terribly to say, "See you tomorrow."

Don't stray too far from me, please, any of you--whether you're in Ireland or only on the other side of the school. Let's still play hide-and-seek at Simon's or tag on the darkened SHS field or even have another half-naked party, yes? We'll arrange a cast party, of course (next weekend? or the one after?), but let's be certain not to let it all end with that. I value you all too much to let you go.

Everyone: the password to this livejournal is laughingpresently9. Anyone who wishes to write in it for the sake of memory or arrangements may.

I'm so proud of you--each and every one of you. I could kiss you all.

"My love and many glorious memories,"
Yours, Marley

Scene
Well, that's it, isn't it? The end. "Curtain." I just want to thank you all, once again, from the bottom of my heart for the amazing time I have had. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Check back here soon for cast party info.

And we love you Niamh.

M'dears,
The posters are printed, the lost latchkeys found, and Talk Like A Pirate Day is tomorrow.
As far as make-up goes for tomorrow, run starts at five, so I expect everyone to be there at 3:30, the latest 4:00. Except for Sarah, whom I've talked to previously. Marley, may I get the make-up notes that Mrs. Woods gave? Many thanks.
Love,
Hanah

It's been a rough day, we can all agree--and I apologize for my own inability to handle the matter better--but I think it is most important that we simply learn and move on.

I love you all dearly, dearly, and it is for that reason that I put aside my homework for the last hour to go and find this poem. It's not even, actually, the poem I set out to find (having forgotten its title), but, rather, one I stumbled over along the way.

On Leaving Some Friends at an Early Hour

Give me a golden pen, and let me lean
On heaped-up flowers, in regions clear, and far;
Bring me a tablet whiter than a star,
Or hand of hymning angel, when 'tis seen
The silver strings of heavenly harp atween:
And let there glide by many a pearly car
Pink robes, and wavy hair, and diamond jar,
And half-discovered wings, and glances keen.
The while let music wander round my ears,
And as it reaches each delicious ending,
Let me write down a line of glorious tone,
And full of many wonders of the spheres:
For what a height my spirit is contending!
'Tis not content so soon to be alone.

--John Keats

Goodnight, my darlings. I look forward to seeing you all at rehearsal tomorrow.

Love, Marley

Hello m'dears,
Rehearsal tomorrow is from right after school until Marley decides it's time to go home. We will not be doing hair and make up, and I think we are not doing costumes, but I am not sure. Tomorrow we are going to be working on problematic bits in the show, so we will be jumping around in the script a lot. Those who are in Miracle Worker will be shipped back and forth, but Katie and James are excused completely. I will bring walkie talkies. As for Tuesday's rehearsal, it is TBA tomorrow. James, can you please call me? I need to talk to you about photos.
Much love, many hugs, and WE CAN DO THIS,
Hanah.

For the Sat rehearsal, in order to be ready by ten, everyone must be there at 9:50 so I can check make up. Those who need help or need me to do their hair, I will see if I can be there a little before eight. Katie, we are trying the hair curlers on sat, right? So that means I don't have to do Katie's hair that morning, but Sarah's hair. So, if Sarah could make sure to be one of those people coming earlier, that would be great.

As for tomorrow's rehearsal, I have tutor at 3:15, and I couldn't get out of that, so I should be there tomorrow before five. I will continue experimenting with Katie's and Sarah's hair, and I will leave make up notes that everyone must read before putting on make up. Much love, and see you all tomorrow! Great job today.

Hugs,
Hanah

My chickadees: Saturday's rehearsal will begin at ten. That is the be-ready-by time, so you each must allot however much time you will need to do hair, makeup, and costume, and be that much early.

Also, for tomorrow's run, we will be doing costume and hair (Dilara being the exception, which she already knows), but you don't have to do makeup. My present to you.

Much love, Marley

PS. REVIEW ACT III. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.
